Technical Tour – What’s Hot and What’s Not
Rain added the final ingredient to bring to life the WSUD projects for Stormwater NSW’s annual What’s Hot and What’s Not technical tour
Eighty-eight excited delegates braved the rain to experience WSUD literally in action! Blacktown Showgrounds, Bunya Estate and The Ponds featured how dominant WSUD has become in visioning how stormwater can be used to enhance the openspace experience, establish an urban ecology and lock in sustainability outcomes. Establishment, operation and maintenance were the hot topics of the day. Special thanks Blacktown Council, JWyndam Prince, Clouston Associates, Benedicts Sand and Gravel, GEMS and the rain for an outstanding tour.
The feedback from the day was outstanding – heres a couple of comments we wanted to share with you.
“Thanks for organising the rain!”
It was great effort to organise a whole event even though it was fully rainy day. Much appreciated..”
“Fantastic. Probably not able to be implemented wholesale in our area as there is not suitable maintenance budget available but great to see the concepts working and as important noting where its not working”
“I think we generated some very good comments from people and raised good questions about management and maintenance – hand over issues and so forth.”
