At Storm we take delight in seeing our design projects constructed but we also look forward to seeing them a few years later.
This normally make us proud but it also gives us the opportunity to review the design or construction elements that worked well and the elements that can be improved upon.
South Creek project is located in Cromer and aimed to mitigate bed erosion and bank erosion to provide a natural environment with a landscape flavour. Using saw-cut sandstone rock was a key material in the solution supplemented by various ripped rock, geotextiles, soils and vegetation.
Construction was completed in June 2012 and the site was last visited in November 2014. Comparative photos are presented below and you can see the growth of vegetation is de-emphasizing the presence of the rock. It is a great outcome for the community and another success story for Storm.
